The management practices leave something to be desired. There was excessive highway noise through the HVAC unit and through the bath exhaust fan. It basically has two temperatures -off & incinerate. I was also asked to announce my room number when I checked out an induction burner. I didn’t expect the 3rd degree for access to prepackaged food for breakfast. ![]() The whole reason you are handed your room keys at check in with the room number written on the folio is for privacy & security. As a single traveler, it is a safety concern for me to have to announce my room number. In addition you must be checked off a list by the breakfast attendant and are asked for your room number. At check in you are given a wrist band which is supposed to be worn anytime you are on the property! The band must be shown for the free breakfast. Some of the parking was blocked off due to repairs/renovation. Parking is $10/day and limited to 1 car/room. There are BBQ grills and a firepit on the pool deck. The beach access is out of service from hurricane season. After 5 days, the kitchen trash was getting a little ripe and I did see one juvenile roach in the kitchen. Housekeeping is only available by request. The room itself was nice with plenty of space, workspace & kitchenette. From outward appearances, many of the ocean front rooms were vacant, just not available to me. I don’t check in to an extended stay hotel so I can swap rooms. The last thing I would want to do after a long day is pack up and move to another room. Traveling on business, I was out of the room from 7:30 AM until after 5PM every day. This was laughable for a couple of reasons. The desk clerk told me I could check back every day to see if a better room was available. ![]() As a HHonors Gold member, I expected a little more consideration. When I arrived at the hotel just before 4PM, I was offered a room directly behind the elevator bank or one closest to the highway. All other available rooms were marked as a $30/night upcharge. The two rooms available to me for online check in were in undesirable locations. Staff I interacted with were pleasant, though I never felt truly welcomed or appreciated. ![]() I recently spent 5 days at this Home 2 location on a business trip. ![]()
